Many consumers have responded to rising food prices by switching from branded items to name-brand items, a good challenge for Aldi given that over 90% of products sold are specialty items.

Aldi's Thanksgiving meal follows the traditional menu, which includes buttered turkey, seasonings, gravy, rolls, macaroni and cheese, stuffing and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, potato casserole, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie toppings.

Aldi's prices assume the chicken weighs 16 pounds and is available at the point of sale. Headquartered in Germany, Aldi operates 2,300 stores in the United States and plans to add 800 more by the end of 2028.

According to the American Farm Bureau Federation's annual study, a 16-pound frozen turkey will sell for an average of $27.35 in 2023, 45% of the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people, which would cost $61.17, or about $6.12 per person. The agency is expected to release its 2024 findings next month.
